Dear Americans, next June is going to be HELL in Zurich.
Millions of people will hang around to watch the European football (soccer) cup.
And I don't want to be there when that happens!
Just leaving the country is not an option, I have to leave the CONTINENT!
So I'd either go to Asia or America. And I said to myself: Why not do a little US-tour?
I might even get to see something else of the States than California and Hawai'i :-) Oh, and I wouldn't be totally against going back to Canada either!
The UEFA cup starts on June 7 and goes on for 3 weeks. So this is about the time when I have to escape.
If anybody wants to sponsor me for workshops/shows or knows somebody who would, let me know!

Since I will have to stop over in New York anyway, this is the place I will target next. There's got to be someone in that big town who wants me? ;-)

Tue, August 7, 2007 - 11:05 AMI wonder if someone in Dallas would be willing to sponsor you. When are your Cleveland dates? You know that Cleveland to Dallas is about 2 - 2 1/2 hours??? and non-stop? Sponsors you might try are Miabella in Ft. Worth, Isis (and the Star Dancers) in the mid-cities area (that is between Ft. Worth and Dallas), hmmmmm, I am thinking!!! There is such a variety of different dance styles going on around here so it is hard to really know who might go for it . . . and you know that some sponsors have already booked out 2008!!!! -

Wed, August 8, 2007 - 7:23 PMI was going to mention that your Bhangra - Bollywood styles definitely would be of interest. We've got a lot of fusing of styles as I mentioned. The recent Ahlan Cairo Nights had Maja (Girl of the Nile) teach two classes: Bollywood and Arabic-Spanish-Gypsy Fusion. I think she got a fair number of attendees as not all the dancers were interested in Egyptian style . . . imagine that!!!

Thu, September 13, 2007 - 1:06 PMOK, so I just wanted to thank you all for your suggestions, but I have changed my plans. Will spend June on an island and help renovating an old house. That should keep me away from the Soccer crazyness enough :-)
Might teach some workshops in the region though... (French speaking part of Switzerland) -

One of those weeks *may* be on a ski slope in your fair country, where I will probably lose my life in an attempt to figure out how one gets down those hills. Zurich may be on the menu as well, since we have friends there.
I'd love to know about any classes or workshops you'll be offering.... -
